Question

Quickbooks Subscription Payments

I've been a Quickbooks user for many years. Initially it was set up to debit my SA bank account. At some point Quickbooks changed the way they processed my payments and they began attracting international transaction fees. I switched my subscription to an international credit card, which has no international transaction fees, but I'd now like to cancel that card.

Do Quickbooks users in South Africa using SA bank accounts/cards incur international transaction fees when they make payments? Interested to hear others experience.

Thanks

We appreciate you alerting us to this, @lisa149. Let me point you to the best support available so they can look through the foreign fees when processing payments through QuickBooks Payments.

If you use QuickBooks Payments to receive payments electronically, there's a fee each time you process a transaction. It depends on how they're processed and is subject to change. For the most updated information, visit the QuickBooks Payments website.

Whenever you don't recognise an Intuit or QuickBooks charge on your bank statement, I recommend reviewing them. The description on your bank/credit card statement identifies where a fee is originating from.

Here's an article for the most frequently asked questions about your subscription rates and charges: How to understand your subscription rates and charges.

Furthermore, it's best to reach out to our customer service team. Issues concerning Payments must be handled by our phone support to access your account securely and investigate the anonymous charges. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon and click the Search tab.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern and select Continue.
  4. Choose between Chat with us and Have us call you.

Moving forward, placing payments into the Undeposited Funds account in QuickBooks Online (QBO) allows you to hold the money until you physically deposit them at your actual bank. This way, you're able to merge them into a single transaction.

Should you have any follow-up questions regarding Payments fees in QBO, please feel free to reach out back to us. I'm here to enlighten you. Stay safe, and have a great rest of the day.
