Accessing old data from QB Desktop once we've transferred to QB Online

As you can't easily transfer over the attachments for purchase invoices, etc from Desktop to Online (other than doing them manually) can you keep the old Desktop version as a read only version? There would be an archive version that we would have saved, would we still be able to access that if we aren't paying a subscription any more?

If you are using QBD 2019 or older, you may find and purchase the one time license of QBD 2019. Otherwise, you can utilize the trial license of QBD 2021 or later to open your file.

Hello Plowmana, 

 

Welcome to the Community page, 

 

So you retain the file itself for as long as you keep a copy. However to open it to read you would either need to purchase a month subscription, or download and install the free trail.
