Amend a CIS Return

I have started to file my CIS returns using Quickbooks Online.  When I log into the HMRC account, these returns do not show as being filed, which is because i filed through QB's I guess.  However, if I need to amend a return, you have this facility on the HMRC portal but I can't see anything about this on QB's other than to unfile a return.  Would I use this to amend a return?

Welcome to the Community page, 

 

So you should have the option to unfile it in your account. The steps to unfile are as follows;

  1. Go to Taxes and select CIS.
  2. Select View Return on the period you wish to unfile.
    • Note: If you need to unfile multiple returns, do them one at a time starting with the most recent submission.
  3. Select Un-file. A message will appear asking you to confirm.
  4. Click Yes if you would like to continue.
  5. Select Done.

 

f you do not see the option then please ring the support line on 0808 234 5337 the line is free from any UK landline or Mobile and is open mon to fri 8am to 7pm and the agent on the phone can get it raised up and unfiled for you.
