Question

An employee was underpaid by mistake, so an additional payment was made to correct this error. How do I match the banking transactions on the new online core payroll?

Previously, I would alter the transaction journal to 2 payments to match the bank feed but I am unable to do this now on the Core payroll

Hello, @enquiries-3b. I'll provide details about matching payments to the bank feeds in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Once paychecks have been processed in QBO Payroll Core, the option to alter the transaction journal to two payments is no longer possible. You can go to the Transactions menu, locate the two payments (the original underpaid amount and the additional payment to rectify the error), and match them.

Here's how:

  1. From the left menu, select Transactions.
  2. Then, proceed to the Bank transactions section and select the bank account shown with a blue tile.
  3. Locate the relevant bank transactions in the Match column by selecting them. This will open a detailed view.
  4. Check the Suggested matches to find the two payments.
  5. Click on Match to confirm the alignment.
