Hi, 

 

Is the supression of an audit trail only available on QuickBooks Desktop or can you also do this on QuickBooks Online? Also, am I right in thinking that if you supress the audit trail, the audit will still be available within the Audit History Report & this cannot be manipulated to remove any audit history?

The option to delete the Audit Log report isn't available in QBO. The audit trail in QuickBooks Online is designed to provide a detailed record of all transaction changes, including modifications, additions, and deletions. This audit trail plays a vital role in maintaining data integrity and tracking the history of your financial transactions.

Thank you, is the QuickBooks desktop offering being retired in place of QuickBooks Online please? If there is the inability to supress the audit trail on QuickBooks Online & the desktop offering will not be around for long then it would make sense for me to have the QuickBooks Cloud package, is that correct please?

QuickBooks Desktop was discontinued for UK users in June 2023, and we no longer sell or offer support for the product. 

 

We recommend switching to a different software, such as QuickBooks Online, to ensure you can remain compliant with HMRC-approved tax software.
