I appreciate your prompt reply to confirm the device of your concern, @mattbulley-mauri. I'll be here to ensure you're able to track your mileage using your device.


To isolate this, we can start by refreshing the program to avoid common issues that can prevent your mileage tracking from working. You can either do it within the app or in your iPhone's settings.


In the QBO app, here's how:

 

  1. Tap the Menu (☰) at the top right.
  2. Choose Help & Feedback.
  3. Click Refresh Data, then tap Refresh.

 

From your iPhone's Settings:

 

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click General and choose iPhone Storage.
  3. Select an app that's taking up a lot of space.
  4. Select Offload App to free up the storage without deleting its documents and data. 

 

Let’s also make sure the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Mobile app is allowed to run in the background. Otherwise, it’ll only track trips when it’s open and active on your screen. I’ll show you how:

 

  1. Go to your device’s Settings.
  2. Select the QuickBooks app and tap Location. Then click Always.
  3. Turn on the Motion & FitnessBackground App Refresh, and Cellular Data options.
  4. Close your settings.
  5. If a notice concerning background location use appears, choose Always Allow. Neither the While Using the App nor the Only While Using choices should be selected as they prevent the app from tracking your trips.
