Can i download a company to read only until our statutory requirement to retain information expires.

Let me share some information on how the read-only access works in QuickBooks Online (QBO), n-chase-pacificf.

The read-only status happens when the account is canceled. Also, you're unable to add nor modify any information if you only have this access. Thus, downloading a company file isn't possible. Once you cancel your account, your data will be available in read-only access for 1 year from the date of cancellation. The length of time the program stores your data under our data retention policy depends on how your account was canceled. If you need to export your QBO reports, lists, and other data onto your computer hard drive before it expires or you cancel your account, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Gear icon and select Export Data (under Tools).
2. Toggle to Reports or Lists to decide which data you want to export first.
3. Filter the correct dates.
4. Once done, click the Export to Excel button.

Moreover, the downloaded reports only include the data from posting transactions (invoices, receipts, bills, balances, and so on).
