Can someone tell me the easiest way to migrate my QuickBooks self employed data 2019-2023, to QuickBooks online? Is there a video tutorial that anyone can recommend?

I've tried the tutorials given by QuickBooks, but it really isn't that simple or straight forward. I'd prefer not to have to manually add years of receipts again

I'll share information to guide you in migrating data from QuickBooks Self-Employed(QBSE) to QuickBooks Online(QBO), @dblackman315b.

We have an article for the steps to follow in switching from QBSE to QBO. However, it does not have a video tutorial.

Before moving to QBO, download in a CSV file all your work from QBSE and upload them to QBO.

Here's how:

Select a category type to download from the dropdown menus.

  1. Enter notes, browse, and upload a receipt.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Select the download icon to the right of CATEGORY for the CSV file.
  4. Save it somewhere that's easy to find, like your Windows desktop.

After you subscribe to QBO, if you want to connect the same bank or credit card accounts you used in QBSE, don't move transactions. You can follow the connect your accounts steps. Several months of recent transactions will be downloaded automatically.

Here is an article you can check to learn more about switching from QBSE to QBO: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online.

I'm adding this article as your reference in getting started with QuickBooks Online: Get started with QuickBooks Online.

Leave comments below if you have questions about migrating your data from QBSE to QBO. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.

@dblackman315b

You can export data to XLS and use an importer tool. Otherwise, consider buying a 3rd party conversion service.
