Can we use the mileage app on QBO for a Pool car, i.e. used by various members of staff to track business mileage?

it would not be just one user, but all member of staff. If not possible, does anyone have any affordable solutions for a Pool car, apart from a manual log book?

You need a 3rd party app to integrate with QBO. How much is your budget? Can you accept GBP 4 per user/month?

I am not really bothered for it to be linked to QBO as it is a Pool car, therefore no tax commitments, but would prefer a digital log of mileage for HMRC, rather than a manual log.

Hello Pickle, thanks for posting on the Community page, 

 

So you can use the mileage auto-tracking in the mobile app as long as the users are company admins. And you have turned on the mileage auto-tracking setup on the app.

Historically the Trips (mileage) feature in QBO has only been available to the Primary Admin of a QBO account. The Trips team has been on a long and hard journey to grant access of this feature for all Admin types (Primary, and Company).

 

What's happened

The Trips team have looked at the Mileage feature and has now granted access to Company Admins in QBO across web and mobile so they can now use this feature.

This feature was rolled out slowly and therefore not available to all users at the same time. This has now been rolled out for all customers.

 

Who will this be available for?

 Company Admin users of QBO companies

Mobile Trips features will be available in the QBM app (adding a manual trip, automatically tracking a trip, viewing all trips, categorising trips, favorite places, and vehicles)

Web Trips features will be available on QBO (adding a manual trip, viewing all trips, categorising trips)

 

This update will allow Company Admin QBO users to:

  • Track trips
  • Categorise trips as business or personal
  • Add and select vehicles 
  • Create rules and favourite locations
