Question

Can you attach additional information to a purchase order rather than adding as a seperate pdf?

Hi there, @becca-clark.

I have some insights to share regarding the attachments that can be added on purchase orders in QuickBooks Online.

You can attach multiple attachments on the purchase order as long as it won't exceed the file limit, which is 20MB. Otherwise, you'll need to add them separately.

To do that:

  1. Click on the +New button at the top.
  2. Under Supplier, choose Purchase Order.
  3. From the bottom left, select Attachments.
  4. Browse and select the documents you want to attach.
  5. Hit on Open, then Save and close.

On the other hand, know that you can only attach the following file types:

  • PDF
  • JPEG
  • PNG
  • DOC
  • XLSX
  • CSV
  • TIFF
  • GIF
  • XML

To give you more details about how to manage your transactions with the help of the attachments, please see this link: Attachments in QuickBooks Online.

I'm also adding here an article that you can scan through to provide you further details about the file limitations that can be uploaded in the system: QuickBooks Online file size and feature limits.

I'll be right here to help if you have any other concerns. Just drop a reply below. Have a lovely day!
