Can you export company files to QB online once desktop licence is expired?

QuickBooks Desktop for the UK has been discontinued as of June 30, 2023. This decision was made to ensure that customers stay current and compliant, while also maintaining the security and accessibility of their data.

In addition to these reasons, we need to provide customers with a product that can receive regular updates to keep up with changing accounting and tax regulations.

If you have an outright license (2015 and older) and can still access your company file, you can migrate your data using Movemybooks. This is a self-service data conversion tool that automatically converts and transfers your desktop data directly to QBO.

You can buy a 3rd party service to convert your data from QB Desktop to QB Online or another accounting program. To lower conversion costs, consider converting only the current fiscal year data. You can access your historical data in the trial version of QB Desktop anytime if needed.
