Clear data to certain point

I have used QB desktop for about 14 years so have a lot of historical data. I am going to move to online but there is too much data to migrate over. How do I delete data from, say 10 years, so that I can covert at least some of my historical data?

Is there no way that I can delete all transactions up to a certain date?

There is no way and it is not possible to delete all transactions up to a certain date on desktop. 

 

You would have to delete stuff, then create opening balances to replace the stuff you have deleted and it would become very messy your books.

Do you know if it is over 500k target? To check this is if you press f2 on your keyboard in your QuickBooks desktop to check this number out. 

 

The only way to reduce targets is to delete transactions one at a time, there is no means of condensing it.

The total targets is 611492 but I would want to keep the last 2-4 years worth of data to move over to the online version so that i have comparative data.

Hello AlanGWA, 

 

You cant do this unfortunately as there isn't a means of only migrating over certain years its an all or nothing process. 

 

You will not be able to migrate it all over because your target is over the 500k. 

 

So your only options are to either start afresh in Quickbooks online with opening balances or use a third party.
