Connecting to a Co-Op Business Bank Account

I've tried several times to connect Quickbooks self employed to Co-Op Business Account but keep getting the message 'That didn’t work. Try signing in again.' My bank account has two-level security with a customer ID/User Id and token. Has anybody faced the same issue and how can it be resolved?

I'll take care of your concern about your online bank account.

 

The Co-operative Bank is one of those banks that has an unavailable open banking solution.  The new connection for these bank feeds in these instances are now turned off, in compliance with Open Banking regulations. We are working closely with banks and financial institutions to provide Open Banking connections for as many banking products as possible, and open banking compliant bank feed for the below banks may become available in the future.

 

There isn't an estimated date as to when this will be available. I suggest following the steps provided by my colleague @KhimG above on how you can import your bank transactions. This is so you can keep your online bank balance accurate. In case you missed it, here's the article: Import bank transactions using Excel CSV files.

Hello Community Users! Just wanted to add some up to date information onto this thread. The Co-operative bank open banking connection is available through Quickbooks  for personal accounts and credit cards. The connection asks for additional authentication-You will need to enter your user ID and password when you update new transactions. Any Q's at all on this feel free to add to this thread.

The error message pops up when your sign-in credentials aren’t being accepted by the bank, @MD_33.

 

Let’s perform some troubleshooting steps to establish the connection between your financial institution and QBSE. Click the Reconnect button that displays within the error message. Right after, manually type in your user name and password, then hit Update Sign-in Info.

 

You can also search for the FI’s login webpage URL to verify the connection or do this after signing into your account. Make sure to select the right link and try all possible results.

 

For example, the account URL after logging in is https://www.netteller.com/loginabc/Views/Retail/AccountListing.aspx. It will have zero results when searched. I recommend removing the extension of the URL to the slash (/) and try researching. You may have to remove a few extensions until a match is found.

Meanwhile, you can manually import data using a CSV file as a temporary workaround. Use either a 3 or 4-column format. 

 

Check the following information for a seamless import process:

  • Remove zeroes (0) from the file and leave those cells blank.
  • Select the column header labels (from the dropdowns) that match the column header labels in your CSV file.
  • The file should contain the following information: Date, Description, and Amount.

If the file format is already properly map, you can now import transactions again. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your QBSE account to access the Transactions tab.
  2. Click the drop-down menu next to Add transaction.
  3. Pick Import transactions and make sure it's the same account where you downloaded the data.
  4. Choose Import older transactions in the Action column.
  5. Tap the Browse button and locate the file you've exported above.
  6. Select Include all transactions and then review your transactions.
  7. Hit the Continue button and click OK then Done.

The issue is that QB have failed to integrate to Co-op Bank (see https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/banking/understanding-if-you-can-upgrade-your-bank-feeds-to-open-banking/00/353110) - the status has been unchanged for months - When is this going to be sorted out???
