Good day. I have 3 company files of which 2. Are opening. The most important one is corrupt after a power failure on Sunday.

When I try to open it. It's asking for admin rights and then a Windows pops up.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community and for providing detailed information about your concern, Stonana. Based on the screenshot you've provided, it seems you're using the QuickBooks Desktop version. With this, I'm here to share troubleshooting steps to ensure you can open your company file without an error.

The error codes: (-6000, -301) happened when QuickBooks Desktop tried to access the company file. This can be caused by any of the following below:

  • One or more of the QuickBooks Desktop Support Files are damaged. These files are the Transaction Log (TLG) file, the Network Descriptor (ND) file, and the Data Source Name (DSN) file
  • The company file is damaged
  • Encryption software is installed

To resolve the issue, I recommend updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. This is to keep your software up-to-date so you always have the latest features and fixes.

Here's how:

  1. Close your company files and QuickBooks. Then, open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop and right-click the icon. Then, select  Run as administrator.
  3. Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop while on the No Company Open screen.
  4. Go to the Options tab. Then, select Mark All and click Save.
  5. Go to the Update Now tab and select the Reset Update checkbox.
  6. Choose Get Updates.

If the issue continues to occur, you'll have to rename the QuickBooks support files or run the QuickBooks File Doctor. Then, you can open this article to see the instructions on how to perform the process: Error -6000, -301: An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to access the company file.

Lastly, you may refer to this article on how to resolve issues that cause QuickBooks Desktop to stop performing accurately: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

Please let me know if you have additional questions about the steps above or anything else about the opening company file. I'll be more than happy to help. Take care always.
