Desktop to Online. Seriously ??

So, I've been a Quickbooks desktop user for almost 30 years, and am now being forced to transition to the online service which by all accounts it's riddled with bugs and problems and the answer to every issue is "we are aware and working on it" but nothing ever seems to get fixed.

Intuit used to provide a service to convert your data for the swap, that's been offline for ages as apparently it was broken (shock I know) and they were working on it in time for desktop users to convert.

Well apparently it now seems that Intuit are unable to get it working and have had to palm it off to a 3rd party company "Move My Books", who want to charge me almost £500 to convert the bare minimum that I am required to have records for as a Limited Company.

You should be ashamed of yourselves that a company that makes over $2 BILLION a year is incapable of providing this service and for treating loyal customers this way.

Welcome to the world of Desktop destitutes.

I'm sick and tired of complaining, the bot replies on here with copy and paste replies is a waste of time. I tested QBO back in 2014 and I see the SAME issues still around after all these years.

The worst thing is there is zero resposibility being taken by management. They just it to the bots to repeat the endless rubbish.

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE INTUIT!

Oh, and wait for the typical copy and paste reply from one of the bots about filling in the feedback form....

Thanks Mark, I've read enough on the forums over the last few days to realise that customers are but an inconvenience to Intuit, just wanted to vent.

I shall await the bot reply :smileyhappy:

Welcome to the Community page,

Is there anything in particular we can help you with in regards to your QuickBooks account?

Hi, I have just spent a frustrating couple of weeks trying to export my desktop pro data to online. Finally managed to do this tonight only to find that my Ltd company data which has a few thousand items of stock will not be transferred to online plus although this handles stock. Am i supposed to spend the next year manually putting my stock into online because intuit is forcing me away from desktop.

Rather than do this i shall look for another supplier even if i have to do the job manually!

A disgrace for such a company to be so short sighted for a customer who has been with them for over 20 years!

Hello there, @DerrickReid.

I understand the need to transfer all the item stocks efficiently. You can opt to enter them manually. You can also check for third-party apps to help you import to QuickBooks Online.

You can go to our Apps Center and search for an importer. Visit Intuit App Store.

Before importing items to QuickBooks Online, export them from QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu at the top.
  2. Select Item List.
  3. Under Excel, select Export all items.
  4. Choose the Create a new worksheet.
  5. Click Export.

For more information about exporting your lists in QBDT, see this article: Import/export CSV files.

Additionally, to learn about other data types, you can import and export to and from QBDT. See this resource: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm also adding this article to guide you in setting up your QuickBooks Online account: Get started with QuickBooks Online,

Let me know if you have questions about transferring files from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.

Hi, thanks for the info.

Being a Desktop Pro user and moving to Online Plus one would think that Intuit understands that stock controls would also be moving together with all of the other data as both programmes are for stock control.

Clearly Intuit is incapable of thinking in such a logical manner.

I shall be searching for a third party who can move everything for me, but it will not be to another Intuit programme but to a more serious competitor.

Any serious business owner faced with this issue would immediately see that Intuit is clearly the wrong partner.
