Hi,

Just moved over from Quickbooks Desktop, and wondered how do I add line by line discount? As I only have to do this with a few items not a full invoice.

Hello Delta2019

In the QuickBooks Online does not have a line by line discount option, only a discount on the whole transaction.

The cleanest option is to add a new service in the product and services and name it discount and then go back to the invoice add the original line> then add a new line with the discount service > then on that line use the minus symbol before the amount to deduct it.

Kind regards

QBO does not have a discount item like desktop does, so you have to use a work around

create a service item that links to the sales income discount account, in the rate block enter the discount as a negative decimal of the rate, ie 10% discount would be entered as -0.10

On the invoice select that item and enter the amount to be discounted as the qty
