Hi, Just started using quickbooks got to finalise books for tax return. Im a driving instructor and want to add a weekly average milage how do I do this as I have not tracked milage for each trip. My previous accountant always put an average milage, never asked me to track each day or lesson. We knew milage of work car beginning of year then end of year nad calculated that way. Vehicle only used for work no personal use.

Thanks for dropping your concerns here in the Community space, @Chris-Yuji. Let me help you track your mileage inside QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

We want you to know that weekly average mileage is not a feature in QBSE. However, you can manually track your mileage for each trip. Here's how:

If you're using a browser:

  1. Select the Miles menu and click Add Trip.
  2. Put the distance in the Distance field.
  3. Edit the Date.
  4. Click the pencil icon to edit the start and end addresses.
  5. Put a Trip purpose note.
  6. If done, select Save.

If you're using an iOS device:

  1. Select the Mileage menu.
  2. Click the Plus icon, and then Create Trip.
  3. Input the trip details.
  4. If done, select Save.

However, if you're using an Android device or want to edit and delete a created trip, refer to this link for guidance: Manually track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed

Moreover, review this article as your reference in setting up an automatic tracking of mileage: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed
