Email addresses on the receive payment screen

Good afternoon,

When I go to the receive payment screen, it is not loading the email address and instead has a previous person's email address which comes up a a default. I have followed previous suggestions about clearing the cashe and browsers for Intuit but without success. It means I have to re-type the email address each time I receive a payment. Do you perhaps have any other suggestions? Thank you.

I appreciate taking the time to do the suggested steps. I'd like to lay down a solution to help you fix the incorrect email address on the Receive payments screen. 

 

The email address that appears on the Receive payments screen is associated with the customer's profile. It does look like it's not yet updated, which shows the previous or default email address. 

 

In this case, we'll want to go to the customer's profile, then edit the email address from there. Here's how to do it: 

 

  1. Go to Sales, then click the Customers tab.
  2. Find and select the customer in question. 
  3. Click on Edit
  4. Update the email address in the Email box.
  5. Hit Save

 

Let's go ahead and record the payments, then check the Email address field. 

 

If it still loads the previous person's email address, then we'll want to have this checked with our support. One of the agents will take a look at the system and see what's preventing us from using the correct email address. 

 

Here's how to reach them:

 

  1. In QuickBooks, click the Help button.
  2. On the pop-up window, go to the Search tab.
  3. Click the Contact Us button.
  4. When asked, we can type something like "Incorrect email address is populating on the Receive payments screen."
  5. Hit Continue.
  6. Select the Chat option.
