Error #12007 for File Doctor

Updates seem to be running fine, except for one element - File Doctor.  I've attached a screen shot which will hopefully help illuminate my issue.  I've run through the tests identified in Get help with errors 12002, 12007, 12009, 12029, and 12031 when updating, but everything checks out fine.  Anybody got any suggestions?

Thank you for coming back to the QuickBooks Community, angusk572. I appreciate you for performing some troubleshooting steps to fix error #12007 when updating QuickBooks Desktop. I'll ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you further with this matter.

Sometimes, QBDT is unable to successfully connect to the internet, which causes a problem when updating. This may be because there are incorrect browser and security settings in place or an application such as an antivirus or firewall program is interfering with the update.

Since you've already completed the steps outlined in the article to resolve the issue, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment which we're unable to do it here in the Community. This way, they'll be able to investigate the cause of the problem.

I'm adding this article so you can view different details on how to use the Verify and Rebuild features in QBDT to identify data issues within a company file: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm just a post away if you need further assistance or encounter any issues while updating your QBDT. I'll be glad to help you anytime. Have a good one!

Hi ChristieAnn,

Thank you for your response.  Unfortunately I do not have a support plan so it looks like your Support Team will most likely charge me to help.  I will keep playing with it as and when I have time (sadly this is most restricted to an hour or so at a weekend every once in a while).  It may be some time before I get back to you.  Thank you for your patience and offer of assistance.

I'm experiencing the same problem.

We are still struggling and unsuccessful with the conversion from desktop to online. When we try to do Update on Desktop, we get error #12007 On File Doctor. The update is therefore not running so we are stuck. We did check our internet security but it is not blocking quickbooks. Any suggestion on how we can resolve please?

Thank you for joining the thread, @Hydrogear.

It's my priority to help you convert your file from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO). I appreciate your time and effort in reviewing your internet security settings to isolate the error code 12007. Since the error continues, you can perform additional troubleshooting steps to narrow down the result.

First, restart your computer. Then, open your file in single-user mode and reset or install the QuickBooks updates to keep your software up to date. After that, try to convert your file again. If you're getting the same result, determine whether another application or process is causing the error. If needed, you may seek help from a computer or IT expert to check the security software causing the error.

Once fixed, you're now ready to move your data right away. I'm adding this link as your reference: Moving from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

When you switch data, you may notice differences in how your books appear. Find out how your data will look in QBO from here: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have other questions while working with your files. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!
