Good day, mark-markwyattco.

I'll share details what's causing the error and how to resolve it as well.

Error Code 81624 can happen if the bank has blocked or there's a payment authorization failure. This is caused if an invalid address or the details was entered. It also happens if the information did not match with the financial institution's record.

Follow these steps to resolve the error and update your billing information:

  • Clear your cache and cookies or try update your payment details using a private browser. Follow the steps in this article on how to do it: Clear Cache and Cookies to Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks Online.
  • Make sure all your card billing address and  information is correct and up to date. You also need to make sure they're the same with the records in your bank.
  • Make sure your contact number is formatted correctly, using the +area code.
  • Make sure there are no special characters or symbols (such as @ or *) in your billing address. Special characters will cause errors.
  • Try to pay later. The system or connection may be available later that day.
  • Use a different card. The balance, card type or permissions of a different card may allow the payment.
  • Contact your bank manager to make sure QuickBooks is approved to bill your account, they may need to do some checking from their end. For PayPal: contact PayPal and/or the banking institution that is linked to PayPal.

Once done, process the payment once again to check if that will go through.
