I'm here to help you resolve this error message, martin.

 

The error message you've received when creating a purchase order in QuickBooks Online occurs if you're using the Category details section. Let's make sure you've added the correct account/s to resolve this. I'll show you how:

 

  1. Go to the + New menu and then choose Purchase order.
  2. Select the supplier's name.
  3. Under Category details, click the correct account/s.
  4. Add the amount/s.
  5. Once done, click Save and close.

 

If you're using the Item details section, I recommend accessing your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. Doing so helps us determine this is a browser-related issue. Here are the keyboard shortcuts: 

 

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N 
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

 

Once logged in, create purchase orders again. If it works, clear the browser's cache to ensure the program performs efficiently. Otherwise, you can use other supported browsers. They also provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.
