Question

Everytime I try and link my bank account it gets to the end then says there's an error. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I'd be glad to help you link your bank account to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account, @plimmerjoanna.

Before we proceed, can you share with me the name of the bank? This way, I’ll be able to check here on our system if there are any related issues about this. I’d appreciate any additional information.

In the meantime, you’ll want to manually upload your bank transactions from a CSV file. Let me show you how:

  1. Log in to your bank website and follow the instructions on how to download your transactions as a CSV file.
  2. Once done, go to the Gear icon in your QBSE account.
  3. Click Imports.
  4. Choose Import older transactions for the account you want to add the transactions to.
  5. Select Browse and find the downloaded CSV file, then click Open.
  6. Evaluate the column headers and data then click Continue to start the import.

For more details, you can also read through this article: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

When you're done, you can now categorise those transactions to ensure there are no duplicates. This also organises your income and expenses so you know what areas of your self-employed business have the biggest impact.

Please don't hesitate to tag my name if you have other concerns in linking your bank with QuickBooks. I'm always around to help you. Have a wonderful day ahead.
