Firewall issue with RDP and local connections. QB Desktop

Hello all,

I have been having this issue and seems like a port or firewall issue.  seeing if someone else can help.

So i have a few users who remote into the server from home with RDP.  when a user connects to the server and logs into quickbooks.  Whoever is at the office and tries to log in, they get the error that says"it appears that QB software on copmuter (servername) is set up to allow shared access to the company file, but the QB software on your computer is unable to communicate with it."

Now to fix this i need all the users that use RDP to login remotely to jump off QB and as soon as they do

Hello there, Dknow,

Thank you for the information you've provided. Based on that it seems that you don't have the multi-user access. That's why you got the prompt whenever someone else access the account at the same time.

You'll want to purchase the one with multi-user access.

Hello,

I do have multi-access.  I make sure that when everyone logs in first to make sure it says multi-user at the top.  If not to switch it.  So with that said.  It does say multi-user (enterprise edition with 5 license user)

But like i said if someone remotes in first the issue happens.  if a local user signs in first it is fine.

Thanks again.

Hello there, Dknow,

I appreciate the clarification. You'll want to contact your local IT support to check on the settings of the computer.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
