Question

Hi - I have connected my accounts from 1st July 2020 but realised it should have been 1st May 2020 - how can I make the date older?

Thanks for visiting the Community, hello-harris-har.

I’m happy to know you’re able to connect your account to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me help get your May 2020 entries into your company.

In situations like this, we’ll have to manually import your transactions and download them into QuickBooks. Before we proceed, pick the correct start date to avoid duplication.

Then, log in to your Financial Institution’s website to get the bank data. To successfully import the entries, make sure the CSV file has the correct format. Check out this article for detailed information: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

Once done, let’s go ahead and bring the data into your company. With just a few clicks you can accomplish this task.

Here’s how:

  1. In your company, tap the Banking menu on the left panel and choose the Banking tab.
  2. This will open a page that lists all accounts connected to the bank feeds.
  3. From there, click the Link account drop-down and select Upload from file.
  4. On the import bank transactions page, go to the Manually upload your transactions screen.
  5. Pick how you wish to bring the file: Drag and drop or select files.
  6. Choose the file you downloaded from your bank and press the Next button.
  7. In the QuickBooks account drop-down, pick the account you want to upload the entries into and then click Next.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

You can read through this guide for more details: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. It outlines the complete steps on how to upload entries for accounts that are connected to the bank feeds as well as the ones that are not.

Let me share the following links to help you in the future. These resources contain solutions on how to troubleshoot importing errors and steps to classify and match online bank entries.
