OK I will try again.
You provide 2 apps one is the main app QBO the other is for mileage. As the main app does mileage, do I need both apps as one app appears to do the same thing. I understand all of what you have said but you actually are not answering my question.
I'm not sure if I can make this any clearer however I would appreciate a proper response to the question rather than generic messages.
Thank you.
With this information, things will make clear now, @brandonmower-out.
To confirm you do not need to have two apps.
The Mileage Tracking feature in QuickBooks Online makes it easier than ever to keep your records straight and help you get the deductions you deserve. The other app is for our Self Employed users which is a separate product.
The Mileage within your QBO account is a manual process of entering your business miles and vehicle expenses in which only Master Admin can do.
While the mobile app automatically tracks trips from start to finish. It detects and measures your trip using GPS, cell towers, and Wi-Fi to triangulate a user’s location. It also provides pinpoint accuracy and automatically recording the miles driven for any business-related trip. Drivers on your team can even use it to track their business miles without needing your presence all the time.
This is a huge benefit for users who don’t want to manually add their information into QuickBooks Online. It saves you the tedious work of staying on top of your driving, helping you focus on your work, your clients, and your business.
In case an employee uses their personal car for business trips in the future, feel free to visit this article here to track mileage reimbursements and pay employees for the expenses.
Let me know if you have other concerns or questions about Mileage. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Stay safe.
