Thank you for posting, @mewie50

You can cancel or disable the MTD connection within QuickBooks by going to the Taxes tab.

  1. On the Taxes tab, click the drop-down menu beside Edit Vat
  2. Select Edit settings and toggle the slider to turn off MTD.

Then, turn off the connection within the settings by going to the Gear icon. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then Account and Settings.
  2. Click on Advanced tab and go to the Making Tax Digital section.
  3. Select Learn how to disconnect and follow the on-screen messaging to complete the process.

In case you’re having an error in doing so, you can try to clear your browser’s cache. There are times that the browser you're using has information stored that's stopping or causing the error when performing those steps. But first, try to do it using a private browser or an incognito window.

Here’s how:

  • For Chrome, press Ctrl+Shift+N.
  • For Internet Explorer or Firefox, press Ctrl+Shift+P.
  • For Safari, hold down Command+Shift+N.

If it works, here's how to delete or disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser. Once you're done clearing your browser's cache, restart your browser for the changes to take effect.
