I'm here to help you switch your Self-Employed plan to Sole Trader, Nichola.

We can seamlessly transition your subscription and the majority of your data to QuickBooks Sole Trader, allowing you to carry on with your business operations as usual.

Beforehand, please note that there are data that you can and can't migrate to Sole Trader, and I've listed them below for your reference:

Data you can move:

                                  Customers                      Product and Services

                                   Invoices                          Bank Connections

                                   Trips                                Receipts

Data that can't be switched over:

Third-party app integrations such as Etsy, Uber, Amazon

                                    Tags

                                     Suppliers

Once ready, please secure a copy of your reports and accounting info since you can no longer access your Self-Employed account once the upgrade process is done.

Here's how to switch to Sole Trader:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  2. Go to Settings and select Upgrade.
  3. Choose Select plan for the Sole Trader column.
  4. Review the changes in features, then click Continue.
  5. You'll see what data we’re copying over. Select Download Data if you haven’t saved your data and backed up your reports, transactions, mileage logs, receipts, and invoices.
  6. If you opt to download data, you’re directed to the Reports screen. After downloading, you'll need to restart the upgrade process.
  7. Select Continue to proceed.
  8. Hit Get started.
  9. Click Get started, then select Start.
  10. Confirm or update a few details about your business to start using QuickBooks Sole Trader.

After that, we'll automatically cancel your Self-Employed subscription if you purchased it directly from QuickBooks. If you bought it from Google Play or the Apple App Store, you can cancel it through their store.

Alternatively, you can manually change your plan by following the steps in this article: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Sole Trader.
