Any update on this?  It would be very helpful to be able to apply mileage costs to projects.

Allow me to share some information about allocating mileage costs to projects, LabellaMindi.

As mentioned by my colleague @Asleigh, for now, you can only create an expense in the projects section and categorise the expense in mileage. You'll want to check out our Customer Feedback page to check if a request has already been submitted. If not, you can send one to let our product team know how this feature will benefit your business.

I've added these articles to guide you on what you can with the projects feature:

Additionally, QuickBooks Online (QBO) provides several reports that you can use to get the information you need. Learn from this article on how you can filter them: Customize Reports In QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions about projects. Remember, we're here to further assist you.

Hi Jemma,

Thanks for reaching out to us on the Community page.

The mileage tracker is only a reference for yourself. If you are wanting to put the mileage on projects then you will have to create an expense in the projects section and categorise the expenses as mileage. You would have to do this weekly or daily depending on how often you want to record it in projects.

Thank you.

That it very laborious!  It would be a great benefit if you could select a project to allocate the mileage expense to.  That would save a lot of manual work.

Hi Jemma,

I know it will be laborious but at the moment their is no other way to record this, our product is constantly being updated. It might be something that will come in the further but you can leave feed back on your QuickBooks which you will find in the cog wheel> feedback, and write your message in their and it goes straight to our engineers who look at ways in which to develop the program.
