I can’t connect to my bank account it keeps sending me an error message

I'm here to ensure you're able to connect to your bank account in QuickBooks Sel-Employed (QBSE). This way, you can monitor your transactions and keep your account updated.

 

With this, I'd suggest performing fundamental troubleshooting steps to isolate the dilemma. At times, unusual behavior may occur in QuickBooks. Stored cache files on your browser can sometimes cause this to happen. Let's begin by accessing your account in incognito. These browsers won't save any browsing histories. 

 

Feel free to use these shortcut keys:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

 

From there, re-connect the bank to confirm if it's already performing accurately. Please ensure to choose the exact bank URL because some banks have multiple names on our list. For more details, check out this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

 

If you can successfully connect it, we'll have to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to eliminate the junk files. Using other supported browsers is a good alternative too. 

 

If the issue persists, I'd advise importing the data as a workaround. That way, you manage the data and can categorise it whenever you’re ready.

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Download the data from your bank. 
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Imports
  3. Click the import transactions link.

 

4. Tap Browse, then open the file. 

5. Map them and follow the on-screen instructions.
