Question

I have a Mettle account but is not syncing. I have tried to authenticate the account but keep getting error 404. Is this a common/ known issue?

Hello there, Nick. I'll share some steps to help you fix the error you encounter so you'll able to sync your Mettle account.

 

I know how difficult it is when something doesn't work as expected. To fix the error, we can perform some troubleshooting steps as it could be related to your web browser. We can start by accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account through an incognito mode. This does not store cache which has the potential to become corrupted and cause unexpected behavior.

 

Below are the shortcut keys you can use:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

 

Once signed in, sync your Mettle account again. From there, check if you can still encounter the error. If this works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. This will remove piled-up data that might cause the issue. If not, you can use another supported browser or device. There might be a temporary issue between the program and the current one you're using. 

 

However, if the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to your bank to verify if there are any ongoing maintenance issues. They can also provide additional steps to help you connect your bank to QBO.
