I have to logon to QBooks Online app every time I want to use the program! Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

When I logged into the desktop app today it asked to install an update and then:

"What’s new in QuickBooks 4.0.6?

  • Fixed a bug that could cause Stay Signed In to fail."

Thank you to whoever fixed this!

Now we see the useless absurd advice given by the Quickbooks team here. Reinstall, Reset, Clear cache, stand on your head and count backwards from 1000 to 0

Hello Everyone

There has been a new release put through the mac app it should ask you to install an update today. If you can follow that instruction. It should mean you no longer get this issue with the app staying signed in. If anyone is still then getting this issue please let us know

Thanks

Thanks for visiting the Intuit Community and sharing this situation to our attention, dale-steinkuehle,

If you are using the QuickBooks Online mobile app, the system is designed to require you to enter your username and password every time you log in for security purposes. These features are available on the gadget or application your logging into.

If you are using the QuickBooks Online Windows app, make sure you've checked the Stay Signed In box in the sign in page. To help fix the problem, it'll be a good idea to uninstall and reinstall the application.

That's it! Please let me know how it goes. I'm always here to assist. Have a great day!

Since the update on 3/18/19, I am asked to enter the password every time I start the app.

This never happened before.

Is this something new,  that we now have to enter the password every time?

  • The issue is with the desktop app. Yes, I check the stay signed in.
  • I uninstalled the desktop app as MirriamM suggested but now can find the download.

When I log on to Quickbooks Desktop it requires me to login to Intuit.  Which I do and then it will not let me go further.  It takes 15 minutes every time.  I finally click on "not the admin" and it says it will remind me again in 7 days!  Great I can't wait.  I'm very sick of this!  This started happening when I upgraded.  Great upgrade!  Adds lots of frustration and wasted time to my life!!

This is not the impression we want you to have when using QuickBooks, Kelly Wilson.

In QuickBooks Desktop, you can log into your company file without entering a username and password every time. Let's make sure you're using the same Windows user account, to keep you logged in once every few days without re-entering your login credentials.

Here's how:

  1. Click Edit on the top menu.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Tick General and select Company Preferences.
  4. Go to Manage Login Settings section.
  5. Tap the Keep user logged in for drop-down and choose 1 Day to 90 Days
  6. Press OK.

For more details about this one, check out this article: Stay logged in to QuickBooks company file (sign in without entering your password)

If you are processing credit card transactions, QuickBooks Desktop connects securely to our systems. However, you have the option to connect it automatically without asking for a password or always ask for a password before connecting.

Here's you can change the connection setting:

  1. Go to the Edit menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window, choose Service Connection in the left menu.
  4. Tap the Company Preferences tab.
  5. Choose the connection option you want: Automatically connect without asking for a password or Always ask for a password before connecting.
  6. Press OK to save the change.
