Solved

I'm closing my business on QB online. I get 1 year support from Quickbooks, after closure, but need 7 years to comply with UK regulations. What is the work-around?

Hello, @karenkayes.

The maximum extension after you cancel your QuickBooks account is only one year within the read-only access. It is possible to resubscribe at the end of the year and then cancel within the the first month of resubscribing again to extend the year for another year at the end of the 1st year and so on(You would be paying one month subscription charge each year that you subscribe again and cancel it same month)

As a workaround, I'd recommend exporting your data's so you still have a copy that you can use in the future.

To export data and list, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top, then select Export data under Tools
  2. On the Reports tab, pick the desired date range.
  3. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
  4. Hit Export to Excel.

For Reports:

  1. Click Reports on the left side.
  2. Search for and select the report you want to export.
  3. Hit the Export icon at the top of the report.
  4. Choose Export to Excel

For the detailed steps, you can browse these articles below.

Also, you can utilize our QuickBooks App store, which provides continuous back to your data. For more information, browse through this article: Export Data out of QuickBooks Online.

Fill me in if you have any other questions. I'll be around if you need any help. Have a great day!

Thanks. I've tried that, but when I export my journals it always says the file size is too large. Any ideas?

As an additional option, utilize TPExporter to export all of your data out to XLS/CSV
