I used the wrong dates when setting up VAT I need submit a return via MTD for he period 01/05/19-31/07/19 but the period showing open in QuickBooks is 01/11/18 - 31/01/19

It would be my pleasure to provide some insights about submitting VAT return in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The date range can only be done/change on the very first filing within QBO. Once you've filed your first return, the start date of the upcoming filings will be set as the day after your previous filing.

Moving forward, QuickBooks will then automatically select the quarter dates based on the previous filing and the settings entered during VAT set up.
