Question

If I ‘copy’ an old invoice which creates a new invoice, the ‘message on invoice’ box is not updating as per my new template. Tried a new template, still doesn’t update?

I want to copy old invoices to create new ones but QuickBooks to do that on my new template! The only way currently around this is to just create a new invoice every time?

Hi @gmartinplumbing.

I can share some clarification and a solution between the details copied from an old invoice to your new template.

When you copy the details from an old invoice this will automatically bring all the details, including the texts in the Message on invoice box from the old one to the new invoice template.

Since the texts in the Message on invoice box from your old invoice are not copied to your new template, I suggest using a private/incognito browser to isolate this issue. This mode doesn't save web searches and cookies.

Feel free to use these shortcut keys:

  • Ctrl Shift for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command Shift for Safari

Once you're able to copy all the details to the new template, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache to delete the accumulated junk files. This helps online applications like QBO to execute faster. Alternatively, switching to other supported browsers can also help fix this issue.

Please let me know how it goes. If you have other concerns, feel free to add them here. I'm always here to help you more. Take good care.
