In Account and Settings, why the "First month of tax year" keeps switching to "Same as financial year" despite we set it as "January"

Having the right company settings is important to accurate financial reporting, Mostropovich. I'll help you change the financial or fiscal details in your QuickBooks Online account.

I also tried to make the same modifications in my QBO account, and I was able to save them without the system automatically reverting the details.

However, accumulated data or browser-related problems can lead to unexpected results. This can cause QBO to automatically revert the information to the Same as financial year even after you changed them in your company settings.

I'll be sharing the steps on how to resolve these browser-related issues to make sure you have the right details in your account.

You can start by logging in to your account using an incognito or private browsing session. This will ensure that your regular browsing data, such as cookies and cache, does not interfere with the troubleshooting process.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Open your browser and click on the three dots in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select "New Incognito Window" or "New Private Window" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Log in to your QBO account in the new window.

If you have a different web browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge, you can also use them as an alternative option.

Then, log in again and check if you can save the financial year information successfully.

If you can do this without any issues, return to regular browsing and follow the instructions in this article on how to clear some saved data: Clear Cache And Cookies To Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks Online.
