Migrate QBDT Pro 2015 from old to new laptop

I want to migrate my purchased version of Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2015 to my new Dell W11 laptop. I've downloaded the software but it wont accept my licence & Product codes

 

Can anyone help?

I'm here to guide you on how you can move QuickBooks to your new laptop, Andy Hodgson.

 

If you're using the 2015 release, your application will have to be manually transferred. Here's how:


1. You'll need your product and license details available. If you don't have them, press F2 while in your books. This will display a Product Information window which can be used to obtain the necessary information.

2. Uninstall QBDT from the device it's currently installed on before attempting to reinstall it on the new computer.
3. On the new PC where you want it moved to, download the installation files by inserting your CD. If you no longer have a copy of the compact disc, installation files can be obtained from the Downloads & Updates page of our website.
 

4. Install the program.
5. After installation is completed, go to Help in the menu bar at the top, then select Register QuickBooks.
6. Enter the requested information to register your product on the new computer.
 

Once you've finished the transfer process, your company file(s) can be copied to their new location. On the other hand, if you are getting errors when entering the product and license number, make sure the license number and product code matches. Hi there, @Andy Hodgson. I'm here to provide some details on how you can buy a one-time license for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2015. 

 

QBDT Pro 2015 is an unsupported version of QuickBooks. This is the reason you're unable to find it on the Download & Updates page. That said, I highly recommend reaching out to our Customer Care team to inquire if they still have an available QBDT Pro 2015 version. They can also provide options that you can take.

 

Otherwise, you can also look for authorised retail stores to buy a one-time license for QBDT Pro 2015 version. Once you have one, they can also assist you in installing the program. 

 

Before doing so, ensure to create a backup copy of your company file. Restore it once you've installed your QBDT program.

Are you still able to open the QBD program on your old computer? Are you sure you are using the QBD 2015 UK Pro version?

Yes, definitely QuickBooks Pro 2015 Release R17P

I've tried all of the above, and it still doesn't allow me to register Licence & Product codes

They only provide installer for QB Desktop 2016 as the oldest version available on the website. You can't use the installer file for QB Desktop 2015 US Pro R17. You should contact Support in UK and ask the correct installer file. Otherwise, you can purchase the one time license for QB Desktop 2015 UK Pro to upgrade your version.

Hi, I'm in the same boat. How did you manage to get it working? Did you manage to download the 2015 version to your new laptop?

Hi sailongcc, thanks for joining this thread. Please note, following the discontinuation in June 2023, we're no longer able to support QuickBooks Desktop in the UK, but you may try using the QuickBooks UK 2015 Download link to install the product on your new device. Hope this helps!
