Migrating from 2002 to QBO

Hi all

We migrated from QB desktop 2002 to QBO. Due to various things QBO hasn't been used yet. We migrated successfully in June. Now need to get data from June to today over. Last year, our IT guy was able to get a 30 day trial to convert our 2002 file to 2006 first then to 2009. Move my books need the 2009 format. The IT guy can't find trials for 2006 and 2009 now and I've already purged!!! Does anyone know where we could get a free trial of those versions just to convert the backup file? Thanks, Siobhan

Welcome to the Community space!

I am here to share some insights about the 2006 and 2009 free trial version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I understand that you need to download a free trial version of QuickBooks Desktop 2006 and 2009. Currently, this option is unavailable.

You may also visit our QuickBooks Help page to find additional references and guides for performing your QBDT tasks.

Return to this post if you have other concerns about migrating from QBDT to QBO. I'll be here to lend a hand.

Would this look like a valid email address for them?

Can QB not provide access to these versions so the migration can be done?

You need to find their profile in the community and you will find their website address to send an email. Otherwise, you can wait for their reply to this thread.

@siobhancummins4-

Last year, our IT guy was able to get a 30 day trial to convert our 2002 file to 2006 first then to 2009.

Is your IT guy missing QBD 2006 and 2009 installer files?

Can you still access the trial version on your computer but can't run the program? You haven't uninstalled it, correct?

The 2006 and 2009 trial versions he used in June 2023 are no longer on the computer. He can't find a way to extract the data from the quickbooks 2002 back up. We are still using QB 2002. The PC it's on is about to die so we need to get the backup transfer done ASAP..  I'm lost. I shouldn't have purged without checking it out. I can't believe we can't convert like we did in June last year.. we just need to convert our backup to 2009 so move my books can import our data...

Hi All, speaking to Andy in Fiat Lux

Still not able to get my data over

Is there anyone in Intuit here that can help?

I still have the link to the file exchange to where they sorted our data in june and migrated the data for us. Even to get the data up to June would do at this stage. The computer we are using which is XP and still using QB 2002 desktop pro is temperamental at the moment and if it gives up we now have nothing as i purged what we had on Friday. Both move my books and QB support told me to perform these steps once i had my .qbb back up file.

It was only after i had completed the purge and shared my .QBB back up file that Move my books replied and said they now need it converted to 2009.
