Migration from QBDT to QBO .... a total disappointment!!

A  disappointing service by Intuit and MoveMyBooks!!

 

Used MMB to covert/migrate 2 years of data from QBDT to QBO. Having a look at our VAT on QBO, MMB decided to change 1000s of Zero rated transactions to Exempt!! now have the laborious task of changing the code from 'E' to 'Z'

 

Customers/Suppliers whose account had a Zero balance on QBDT, now have a +/- balance, this could be due to the exchange rate difference (we use GBP and Euros) but saying that, according to MMB it should have converted Euros to GBP using the same rate that was in QBDT, so why the different balance??

 

My main concern is one of our Euro Suppliers had a zero balance (our last transaction with them was in 2015) MMB have converted/transferred the data now showing that we owe them over £25,000!!

 

Intuit helpline say contact MMB as they can't do anything about the data transferred.

 

Emailed MMB (as there is no other way of contacting them), they say contact Intuit and they can't do anything about it! 

 

Spending more time correcting the data that has been transferred!

We're sorry to hear you haven't had a great experience transitioning to QuickBooks Online via MMB. 

 

One reason for the unexplained supplier balances can be due to unapplied billable expenses carried over from QuickBooks Desktop. You can manage these with our billable expenses tool which hides unbilled expenses and marks them as closed without having to create an invoice. To do this, change the URL in the address bar from “qbo.intuit,com/app/homepage” to “qbo.intuit.com/app/managebillableexpense'' and then enter the appropriate date, then Save.

Hello @GeorgiaC 

 

Thank you for your reply, I transferred my data from QBDT to QBO on 19.05.23 (which included the financial years 2022 & 2023). The outstanding bill for over £25,000 (paid in QBDT) was from 2015. 

 

What date should I put in the link you have mentioned below:

a) 01.02.2022 - The start of of previous financial year from when data should have been transferred to QBO

or

b) 01.02.2023 - The start of this financial year - but we have a couple annual bills which are paid by monthly direct debit, this needs to stay open.

Thanks for getting back to me, sld2012. The date entered is usually the date that you migrated your file, though if you migrated with unbilled expenses (that you expect to apply in the future) you can enter a date prior to this. Once you've chosen a date and saved this, the system will hide any unbilled expenses created before the date you entered and mark them as Closed. If you're unsure which date to enter, you can run the Unbilled Charges Report (Take me there) to see if the transaction appears there.
