It's good to see you here in the QuickBooks Community, Mark.

I want to ensure you can track your mileage smoothly in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let's perform several troubleshooting steps to get around this issue.

There are times that the QBO mobile app has data issues, thus causing unusual behaviors when tracking mileage. To get started, let's check your app to verify if it's still tracking your miles. Here's how:

  1. Open your QBO account on your mobile app.
  2. Go to the ☰ (menu) icon, then select Settings.
  3. Click Mileage Settings in the Mileage section.

From there, check the list in the Avoid missed trips section. If all of the settings have a green checkmark, it means you're good to go. If you see a (!), follow the on-screen instructions to make changes.

In addition, third-party antivirus software and apps may interfere with mileage tracking. That said, we can add the QBO mobile app to your permissions lists. To do so, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your device's settings and select Application manager or APPS.
  2. Locate the QuickBooks mobile app and select Mobile Data.
  3. Turn on the settings Allow app while data server onAllow unrestricted data usage, and Allow background data usage.

If you get the same result, you can check out this article for more troubleshooting steps: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Just in case you want to keep track of mileage reimbursement and pay employees for them, you can read this article for more guidance: Reimburse employees' mileage and vehicle expenses in QuickBooks Online.

Come back to this post if you have other concerns or follow-up questions about tracking mileage. I'll be around to provide further assistance.
