Hello, I`m trying to setup Mileage Auto Tracking.

But there is no "Auto-tracking" options/button available in my "Mileage" menu.

My background location permissions are set to "Allow all the time"

How I can get this working?

Thank you

Let me share some information about the issue that you’re having right now, @vladislavs.

There are times performance issues in QuickBooks Mobile App can be caused by a full cache and could be the reason why the Mileage tracking option is missing. To rule this out, I recommend performing basic troubleshooting steps. Let's start by resetting the app data to clear the cache and refresh it into its default state.

Here's how:

  1. In your mobile app, click the Help menu. Then, select Reset App Data.
  2. Close the app when the process is completed.
  3. Once done, be sure to right-click the app and Run as Administrator when re-opening.

You can also use this article on how to manually track your mileage and to categorize it after a trip: Track mileage in QuickBooks Online.

There is no option "Reset App Data" on my mobile phone app.

Also when you saying "right-click" does it mean I need to do it on two devices, my phone app and computer?

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @vladislavs.

Allow me to provide you the details on how to clear your mobile app data cache in QuickBooks Mobile App. Here's are the steps:

  1. Android: Select the menu at the top-right and click Settings, then select Refresh Data and click Yes.
  2. iOS: At the top left-click the menu and then select Help Feedback, then click Refresh Data and Refresh.

In addition, the steps by my college above are only applicable if you're using QuickBooks Online Desktop App on your computer.

I'd also recommend clearing your cache regularly to get the best performance for your application.

In case you're still getting the same issue, you can power down and restart your device or uninstall and reinstall the app.

Once the issue is fixed, you can now set up the automatic mileage tracking feature.

Hi,

I don't know how you got on with the last advice, but I have a feeling it might not have been the correct answer for you.

When I set up my QB I was advised to have an account that had Master Admin rights and another account that was just Admin, for doing day to day stuff.

The auto mileage tracking function is only available to the person who has Master Admin Rights, so if you have an accountant/bookkeeper with the Master Admin Rights they will be the only people who can Auto record mileage, really useful, right!

As far as I can see this function is only useful for single-person companies or companies that only have one person who drives.

The process to manually add journeys isn't to bad, but it will all be a duplication of work and an extra job over just using your current system.

Anyway Good Luck

Thanks Les, on QuickBooks Online the mileage tracking is currently only available for Primary Admin users, could you please check to see if you have the required permissions by going to the Cog > Manage users. 👩‍💻

My Accountant Primary Admin and I am set to Admin.

So none employee can track but me as business owner paying for this package can not use it?

??Cog > Manage users.??

Hello Les, If you want to use that you can ask the accountant to transfer master admin to yourself, the function will be in the future coming out for company admin users as well.
