Hi,

Please can you explain why we are being asked to upload personal ID to be included on the pro advisor directory.

Neither myself or my staff feel very comfortable uploading our passport or driving licence, and we don't see why it is necesssary.  We already have an accountant profile with you with a number of clients linked to us, so you know we are genuine accountants.  You can also check our firm on Companies House and for those of us that are qualified you can check our membership with our professional body.  Why do you need our personal ID?

Many thanks

Hello Cap9193,

The reason in which we ask for personal ID is to make sure it is you that is saying is you. The process has been put in place by our developers and the reason that they require that personal id is for an additional layer of security for users searching for accountants. We're happy that you can provide professional credentials. We do see why also giving personal credentials may be something the firm does not want to do. The nature of online things such as the directory is there is the possibility of impersonation, the possibility of false certification. We're not saying that this is something which would happen. We just need to be doubly sure.

Hello CAP9193,

Welcome to the Community page,

So this process has been in Quickbooks for a while now. The reason it asks you to upload the personal ID is so that intuit needs to verify that you are actual accounting professionals that are being posted to find an accountant website for our customers.

I can understand you wanting to check we are accounting professionals, but I'm not sure how my passport will help you with that.  If you were asking for our professional credentials that would make more sense.
