Project Problem

Hi.

As a design engineer I fully rely on the project feature in QB. I have crated 2 new projects today (a real one and a test one) and am not able to add ANYTHING to either of them. I have tried in Google  Chrome & Opera. Each time I try to add something such as time I receive the following Error

 

Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred. Please try again.

 

I am able to add time to existing projects though

 

Pleas help.. I need to send an invoice..

It's nice to see you again in the Community, @TimBob

 

Let's create the transaction under the project again using a private window. This way we can check if you're having a browser-related problem.

 

Here's how to use an incognito depending on the browser you have:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N.

If it works, you may go back to your regular browser and clear your cache.

 

However, if you get the same error, I'd recommend contacting our Online Support. They can check this further using their tools in a secure environment. 

 

In the meantime, you can create an invoice transaction using the Create button.  Then enter the project name on the Customer field. Please see attached screenshot below.

I tried private browsing in 3 browsers, Chrome, Opera & Safari... unfortunately neither helped.

 

I will have to go back to using standard invoicing until there is a fix for this.. not a massive problem,, but not as tidy as it cold be...

 

Interestingly I have noticed another project bug has been fixed... and I wonder of there is a correlation?  The bug ?I think has been fixed is that when I add a new project it is instantly available in my project list, I used to have to log out, close my browner, open a new browser and log back in again... Perhaps one fix has broken something else?

Since you still receive the same error message after performing some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support.

 

They can pull your account, securely, and create a case ID associated with your company to be submitted to our product engineers for further investigation about this unexpected behavior. To do so:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred. Please try again in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Click Let's talk.
  5. Select Get a callbackChat, or Call us.
