QBSE not fit for HMRC. Not fit for MTD
My posts on other threads are being ignored by Quickbooks representatives for weeks on end, so I am starting another thread here.
Quickbooks representatives have confirmed that QBSE "will not fully satisfy or provides HRMC request for more detailed financial information if your business needs complex accounting features since QBSE only has basic features." (https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/other-questions/please-can-someone-explain-how-to-set-a-rule-in-qbse-uk-that/00/1497122)
Quickbooks representatives have also confirmed that QBSE is not suitable for HMRC requirements for MTD (Making Tax Digital).
QBSE is therefore not suitable to be sold and marketed as an Accounting Software for Self Employed businesses and should not be advertised as such.
This is a request for Intuit / Quickbooks to be honest and transparent with their customers about the limitations of the product that is being marketed and advertised as 'Accounting Software' - it is NOT effective Accounting Software - it is an aid to completing the Tax Return - this is the only feature that is is capable of doing.
QBSE is currently being mis-sold to to customers who are needing an Accounting Software for their Self employed businesses.
If QBSE are advertising this as Accounting Software, they need to provide features like Custom Categories, which will help towards making their product suitable for MTD and suitable for HMRC if they request to see a business's accounts.
