Quickbooks 2002 UK trial version

Hi,

I am trying to migrate from very old V8 QuickBooks desktop to cloud. It's very hard to find the trial versions of QuickBooks desktop 2002 UK version. Contacted support and they said they don't support it as it's so old. Is there anyway someone has a link to the 2002 UK trial version which would be the first stepping stone for migration from V8? I found some trial versions online but that was for Australia and US. I read that you have to go from V8 - 2002 - 2005 - 2008 and so on. Any help is much appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Matt

Hi there, @Mathan94. I'd be glad to provide insights about migrating QuickBooks Desktop files.

Since QuickBooks Desktop 2002 for the UK region is an old version, this product is already unsupported. Also, QBDT UK versions are already discontinued. Therefore, all of its trial versions are unavailable.

On the other hand, transferring QBDT data to other regions isn't supported in the program.

Regarding moving your books from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online or non-Intuit financial software, I suggest looking for another third-party migration service provider.

For additional reference about handling your QuickBooks Desktop files, please see our QuickBooks Data Services FAQ.

If you have further questions about data migration, simply add them to this thread. I'll be here to help you out. Have a good one.

@Mathan94

You need to upgrade your company file to QB Desktop 2006 as the first step. You can contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA and they can help to upgrade your company file later.

I already tried recovering the V8 backup in 2006 and then in 2020 but that didn't work. There was an error in 2020 during recovery. I read that you can't go directly from V8 to 2006 but have to go 2002 first?

Hello Mathan94, thanks for posting on this thread on the Community page, so you have two options if you are trying to migrate from the desktop to the cloud version, you would be better off starting again. You will still have access to the data on the 2002 version for your records. To update your desktop is a gradual process, going through the years you can't jump from an old one to a new year one, like you have found out, but you won't have all the versions to hand. Even if you were able to get it updated to a newer version, MMB (Move My Books) only moves 2 years of data for free and if you require more years you will have to pay I think it is around £90 for each additional year added.
