Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2016

Okay - So I have a brand new PC and have installed all software which I previously had with no problems.....EXCEPT QUICKBOOKS !

So I have paid for and legally own the Desktop Pro 2016 software and should be allowed to use it. However, it will not for the life of me register my software despite having all browsers (IE, Chrome and Edge). I have also tried the Quickbooks Tool Hub. Support is impossible to get hold of. All I need is to be able to activate my product, seriously you would think I was asking for the safe number for the bank of England!

Any tips would be so gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Jas

QBD 2016 is outdated and doesn't support Win 10 or 11. You can still purchase the one time license for QBD 2020 UK to upgrade your version if required.

Congratulations on your brand new computer, @Karmakards.

I'll share some information about installing QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2016 on your new computer.

As mentioned by Fiat Lux - ASIA, your QuickBooks Desktop version is already outdated and doesn't support Windows 10 or 11. That's why you're unable to install or activate the product on your new PC.

You can consider Fiat Lux - ASIA's suggestion to upgrade your version. However, please know that we're discontinuing the QuickBooks Desktop product in the UK. For more information, you can check out this article: QuickBooks Desktop is being discontinued. This will also help you move your data to QuickBooks Online or download your data to move out of QBDT.

If you consider going with QuickBooks Online, you can check this article to help you decide: Is QuickBooks Online right for me and my business?

Our Community forum is always open to help you again if you have further questions about this. I'll be standing by to your response.

Hi - I am not sure I can accept that statement as fact. I have been running my Quickbooks on Windows 10 for a very long time with no problems. So basically you now want to squeeze a nice little monthly fee out of customers. So will I get a refund on the software I purchased ? I mean, if I have spent money (Does not matter when) on purchasing the official product then surely it is MY product to use and should remain updated. So do I get a refund ? Also even if I did switch to online. How the heck do I open my current company file to be able to continue entering my accounts which I do on a daily basis ? I have read on here that even purchasing the latest version of Desktop software, people have had activation issues. How is that explained. Why would I spend more money ? If I am going to buy a car and someone tells me that in a few years I cannot use that car when it is a few years old I would not buy it so in effect customers like myself have been conned whilst you have raked in thousands of pounds of software sales which you are now making unuseable. Absolutely shocking. NOT HAPPY
