Question

Reporting actual Foreign exchange bank account balance

We're a UK company with various foreign exchange bank accounts.

When we run a balance sheet report the foreign exchange bank accounts are stated in GBP. What i need is a report i can run that shows the foreign exchange bank accounts in their local currency at a point in time. For example we have a Canadian dollar account. The account balance is $170 at month end but the balance sheet shows £100 ($170 converted to GBP). I need a report to show $170.

The only report that comes close to this is the 'account list' report, however that report shows the balance right now and you cannot set a date. at the moment I've having to go into the chart of accounts into each FX account to view the month end balance.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Eagleeyesolutions,

Welcome to the Community page,

In Quickbooks, there are no reports that will do this or show this for you.

It would be a case of you would need to export it out of Quickbooks and into excel and manually convert it back to the foreign currency as of that time.

You can always leave feedback in the main cogwheel, this feedback gets sent straight to our developers and it may be something that comes out in the future.
