I have just retired. If I cancel my package do I lose access to last years accounts instantly or is there a period of grace. I want to close my business bank account to save money.

You can continue to access your account until the end of your billing period even after cancellation, Kelk. I'll provide more details on this matter below.

Once you cancel your account, you will no longer be able to edit or add information. However, we will retain your data for one year, allowing you to conveniently resume your activities from where you left off should you resubscribe.

To cancel your account, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Click Billing Info, then select Cancel subscription."

Furthermore, to learn how to save your data onto your computer's hard drive for backup, explore this material for guidance: Export data out of QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I appreciate you choosing QuickBooks to be a part of your business journey. If you ever decide to return, we will be thrilled to welcome you back and provide continued support for your business needs.
