Set up start mileage

Hi,

How do I set up my starting mileage so that the tracking track my start and end mileage accurately.

I'm looking for start mileage, end mileage and miles driven, is this possible as it would save a lot of time on the self assessment?

Thanks for your help

Hi there, Chris Cribben.

Turning your mileage data from the app helps you easily track your trips, so you'll have them ready when it comes to annual tax time. Let's turn on the mileage tracking it automatically records your work trips. I'll show you how to do it:

Turn on mileage tracking:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app.
  2. Tap the Menu ☰ icon.
  3. Choose the Mileage menu.
  4. Select and turn on Auto-tracking.

After you turn on Auto-Tracking for the first time, you’ll need to authorize the app to use location services. Select your device to see the next steps:

Please read through this article for setting up your mileage and other steps to help manage your vehicle: Set up mileage tracking and vehicles in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I'm also adding this link for you: Mileage Topics. This is a resource hub on how you can troubleshoot mileage tracking issues on the app and on the web version of QBSE.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help and provide you additional assistance. You have a wonderful day!
