Smashing the "Switch To Classic View" button for the 100th time

Which idiot designed these new 'modern reports' And which idiot didn't think to put a check box in the settings to let us, the paying user to decide which we'd like to use as the default view?

I've just spent the last few hours trying to get to the bottom of another QBO issue in my stock and I'm pulling my teeth out having to smash 'switch to classic mode' EVERY TIME I open a new report.

It's an absolute joke. Don't Intuit actual hold any sport feedback sessions with us who use QBO day in day out?

And no I won't open a feedback report as that's also USELESS.

@Mark ArmisteadI couldn't agree more Mark, having also had issues with my stock yesterday. One 'Classic' was I started one product quantity with 68 a few months back, done an invoice the other day and it said I had 150 !!
Go to Products & Services, run a report, smack the classic view again from some daft modern view....... and it shows I started as of Nov 1st 2022 with 150 !, Errrrrrr, excuse me QBO, I printed out a stock report on June 19th 2023 and it said 68, how can it jump to 150 all of a sudden?, it's done this with other items I have

So after viewing my 'classic view report', there's no back button is there to go back to your stock list, that would be far too easy......Oh no, let's really wind people up and take you back to 'Reports' where you then have to slide the main bookmarks bar to yet again click on Products & Services

Click, Click & scroll, scroll all the god dam time

And get rid of that god forsaken payments options with the annoying black popup box when I do an invoice, I don't want it, neither am I ever doing an "Estimate" again on account it keeps popping up in your face when doing an invoice. Try using QBO on a laptop with a small screen and you'll soon see the frustration

Hello Mark and Kev-20, thanks for sharing this with us, we are sorry to hear you don’t like how the new future works on the report, we have feed this all back to the team. We appreciate that once you have gone out of the report and go back into it you do have to click the classic view again and doesn’t keep it as a default for you as a customer. We have shared all that has been said to the team from our customers.

@Ashleigh1

When a new feature, which I'd never even seen anyone suggest it or complain about the reports as they were, is creating more work for users, then the process by Intuit to introduce these is massively flawed.

As I said, don't Intuit conduct case studied and efficiency tests to see if new feature are in fact making the product harder to use. Introducing unwanted features, things like the new menu system, which is now being replaced yet again. No user has seen the new menu, and when I spoke to the chap on the telephone support line neither had he. We even talked about this reports problem and he said it was stupid having to hit classic every time as we worked through this stock issue. But, as per usual, NOTHING will change. Bugs are mounting up which never get fixed, new features which no one asks or wants, no information as new feature are introdiuced, and bad implementation

@Kev-20I've wasted four hour of my time this week trying to work out my stock problem. A single line on an invoice for a stock item is being split into 2 or even 3 entries on the stock list. It's not knocking the stock quantity out, but if I sell something at 100 metres it's split it randomly on the tansaction journal but only when the invoice is paid. Two phone calls and a live chat they just shrug their shoulders and closed the complaint, twice.

Hi,

Just wanted to add my two cents here as well as I am also really struggling with the new modern view of reports, just can’t get comfortable using it at all. Not quite sure if your issue with stock is reflecting the same problems I have with more general reports Mark but, aside from finding it so much busier than the original view, it also rolls everything up to the higher level of accounts so I have to click on each one to see the items under it, impossibly time consuming on a long list. I am not sure if there is a way to enable a quicker setting here but I can't find anything.

My question to QB advisers: as already pointed out in this thread will you be offering a setting at some point to be able to set the original reporting still as default so we don’t need to click on the ‘switch to classic view’ button every single time we run a report? Hugely frustrating and unnecessary step that has been introduced. I am also very worried there might be plans to eventually discontinue the classic reporting view and would appreciate reassurance that there are no plans to remove this style of reporting?

Hi Ali, thanks for adding your thoughts on this. We're sorry to hear you're not finding the new modern view to be a useful improvement.

We do appreciate some users will have a familiarity and preference for the classic view and we've not been made aware of any plans to remove this by our product team. If you haven't already, please submit a request for the ability to set a default reporting option in-product (via the Cog > Feedback tool). The more input we can get here, the better. 🙂

@alibalismithYou are correct there new layout is just wrong, can't put my finger on why, too many lines, or maybe just too spready out, dunno, it's odd.

@GeorgiaCAs I keep saying, the feedback system is 100% a total waste of time. It's as flawed, ill thought out and doesn't do ANYTHING. These forums are littered with the endless, same requests for bug fixes and changes which go back YEARS. For instance, I have routinely put in feedback about the Planner and how it doesn't account for cashflow of VAT. I must have put that request in 15 times. Have I had one single bit of feedback, no. So now I don't bother. It's tiresome and it's become aperant it's a total waste of time, so people don't bother. Why should we when we see ZERO changes or fixes.

Plus I was told by one of your telephone operatives that the development is driven by the USA market so it appears the UK is just along for the ride.
