One of your users may have changed the VAT period. I know how you can modify it. 

Let me guide you with these steps:

1. Click the Taxes tab.
2. On the Edit VAT drop-down, select Edit settings.
3. Select a period on the When do you need to start calculating your VAT from? field.
4. Click Save.
